Dropbox, the online data storage and sharing facility, has admitted that it has once again suffered from hacking. After suffering from a security bug last June, the firm has confirmed that the accounts of its staff and some of its users have again been breached. The latest security flaw comes from usernames and passwords being stolen from other websites and then used for signing into Dropbox accounts. “A stolen password was also used to access an employee Dropbox account containing a project document with user email addresses. We believe this improper access is what led to the spam," a spokesman for the firm explained. “We’re sorry about this, and have put additional controls in place to help make sure it doesn’t happen again.” Included in these new controls is a two-factor authentication feature, which enables users to set up two proofs of identity when logging into their account.
